Bancroft STOR is a 20MW flexible generator plant developed by STOR to provide reserve power at times of peak demand. The project is located in the north west of England where balancing the network can be challenging.
Bancroft was acquired by Forsa Energy from STOR in 2018 along with 120MW of additional generator facilities. Clarke Energy was contracted by Forsa Energy to engineer and build the project.
“This project had logistical problems due to the limited footprint on site however the team came up with a deliverable compact design which myself and everyone involved in the project are incredibly proud of.”

“Excellent quality of communication on the first project which is operational and pleased to be working with the STOR Power team again on a second project.”
“At certain times of the day, we need access to sources of extra power in the form of either increased generation or demand reduction. The electricity network needs to evolve to support the changing energy landscape.”
