In seeking to reach net-zero to 2050, the energy sector is under immense pressure to adapt and ultimately transition from carbon intensive baseload power to a low carbon future powered by renewables.

However, we must not overlook the need for reserve power otherwise our electricity network will collapse, and the lights will go out! There is no such thing as a silver bullet in the energy industry; no technology can successfully enable this transition alone. If we are to succeed in our biggest challenge in energy to date then we must deliver a mix of complimentary energy technologies.
